Well I had blackberries from the meadow and I had apples from our tree and as a certified tea addict there was only one thing for it. Yes, convert them into a nutritious fruit tea. Suitably inspired and educated by The Bluebird Tea Blending Workshop, I was certain that I could make a good job of it.
1lb of Apples
1lb of Blackberries
A hand full of lemon balm leaves (optional)
Peel core and chop apples into roughly 1cm chunks then place in your dehydrator with the blackberries and lemon balm. Sprinkle with cinnamon to taste and dehydrate until dry. Follow instructions relevant to your dehydrator.
Combine all dried ingredients and mix well before storing in your chosen tin or jar.
To brew tea, measure 1 to 2 teaspoons per cup into your pot, pour on boiling water and allow to brew for 5 to 8 minutes then strain and pour into cup.
You can taste both the apples and blackberries in this lovely fruity drink, which is full of vitamin C and tastes delicious!
